Overview

The Surgical Technologist CST/ST is responsible to provide the patient considerate and respectful care in the operating room. They are responsible for the preparation of the necessary equipment, handling a variety of equipment requiring manual dexterity and efficiency and preparing the operating room for surgical procedures.Applicants should be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program and nationally certified (or eligible to become certified). The tech must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to prepare for and scrub on a variety of cases including: general, Ortho, Urology, Neuro, ENT, Ophthalmology, Plastic, GYN, and Podiatry. The ability to be flexible and contribute positively to a team environment is essential. Must have CST certification and minimum of one year experience.Education:Graduate from high school or equivalentGraduate from an accredited surgical technology program or another learning program (on-the-job) acceptable to the Director of Surgical Services and MCMC.Licensure/Certification:Current National Certification of Surgical Technology (CST)Current Basic Life Support Certification.Schedule is 36 hours per week, 3-12/hour shifts (1600-0430) + 2 hours call (0430-0700) and 1 weekend of call rotation a month Friday ??0700-Monday 0700 (72 hours)
