Position Description: General job duties and types of procedures required:
General Med Surg patient population with overflow of patients from other Med Surg units.
Equipment utilized in the unit/department:
EPIC computerized charting (preferred)
Required skills and minimum years of experience:
Minimum 2 years experience in Med Surg required. Telemetry experience is preferred as RNs currently interpret their own strips.
Specific license and certifications/registrations required:
RN license for PA and BLS required. ACLS is preferred.
Shift or schedule requirements:
12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week. Every other weekend required.
Floating to other units/departments:
Will float to like Med Surg units as needed.
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/department:
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit:
1:5 or 1:6, team nursing with one Patient Care Assistant assigned to each team.
Must wear combination of navy blue or white scrubs
Tell us about the unit/department specific training and orientation program:
Hospital orientation every Monday. Will be in classroom orientation for two days, then proceed to unit for department specific orientation for an additional 2-3 shifts depending on comfort level. Will be assigned Computer Based Learning modules upon start at LGH and must complete within the first two weeks on assignment.
