Administers intravenous treatments as directed by a physician. Responsible for starting the IV, setting up the medication administration, monitoring the patient through the duration of the infusion and taking down the IV at the end of the infusion. The infusion nurse will be responsible for the knowledge and technical skills needed to operate a variety of mechanical devices to accomplish this task. 13 weeks assignment, 2 years experience current required. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced environment. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment. Certifications: BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required. BLS, ACLS, and PALS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross. EMR: EPIC experience preferred. BCA (basic cardiac arrythmia) Test: Traveler must pass the BCA testing during first week of assignment. Travelers that do not pass the BCA test will be dismissed.Shifts: 10 hour days – May fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. On call, weekends and holidays may be required. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. Orientation: 1st week of the contract, not to exceed 40 total hours, and includes EPIC training. Scrubs: Required and provided by the facility.
